Terms of Service
These terms govern use of Yaato's public website, school transport web application, backend services, and direct-distribution Android pilot software unless a separate signed agreement applies.
Effective and last updated: June 18, 2026
1. Agreement and eligibility
By accessing or using Yaato, you agree to these terms. If you use Yaato for a school, company, or other organization, you represent that you are authorized to accept these terms for that organization.
A signed order form, pilot agreement, data-processing agreement, or other written contract may add to or replace parts of these terms. The signed agreement controls if there is a conflict.
2. Current service status
Yaato currently includes a school transport web application and backend services. The parent and driver Android application is direct-distribution pilot software and is not currently distributed through Google Play or the Apple App Store.
Features can require configured accounts, route and assignment data, maps, Firebase, email, routing providers, device permissions, compatible devices, and network access. A feature description is not a promise that the feature will be available in every deployment or circumstance.
3. Accounts and access
- Provide accurate account and organization information and keep it current.
- Keep credentials, devices, recovery information, and authentication cookies confidential.
- Use only the role and school access assigned to you and do not attempt to access another tenant, user, student, or trip without authorization.
- Notify Yaato and the relevant account administrator promptly of suspected loss, compromise, or unauthorized use.
- The customer is responsible for creating, reviewing, disabling, and removing its authorized users and assignments.
4. School and customer responsibilities
- Establish lawful authority to enter and process school, employee, guardian, and student information.
- Provide required notices and obtain required permissions or consents, including for location, communications, and child information.
- Keep route, stop, vehicle, driver, student, guardian, emergency contact, and assignment records accurate.
- Train users and maintain independent transport supervision, safeguarding, incident response, and emergency procedures.
- Review proposed routes and recorded events before relying on them operationally.
5. Acceptable use
You must not, and must not help another person to:
- Use Yaato unlawfully, deceptively, or to violate another person's privacy or rights.
- Upload information you are not authorized to process.
- Circumvent authentication, role checks, tenant isolation, rate limits, or other security controls.
- Probe, scan, disrupt, overload, reverse engineer, or introduce malicious code except where a restriction is prohibited by applicable law.
- Use location, attendance, or incident information to harass, discriminate, stalk, or cause harm.
- Present Yaato as an emergency service or represent that it guarantees safety, location accuracy, notification delivery, route optimality, or response times.
6. Emergency and safety limitations
Yaato is an operational software tool, not an emergency dispatch service, police service, medical service, transport operator, or substitute for trained supervision. An SOS event must reach the Yaato server before it can appear for acknowledgement or resolution. Push notifications and email may be delayed, blocked, misconfigured, or unavailable.
Users must contact appropriate local emergency services and follow the school's emergency procedures when circumstances require it. Do not rely on Yaato as the sole means of emergency communication.
7. Location, attendance, and route information
Location information depends on devices, permissions, satellite signal, network connectivity, maps, user actions, and configured assignments. It may be delayed, incomplete, unavailable, or inaccurate.
Attendance reflects recorded user actions and is not biometric or independent proof of a student's physical presence or safety. Route optimization generates a proposal from supplied data and does not guarantee the shortest, safest, legally permitted, or operationally suitable route.
8. Customer data and privacy
Customers and users retain their rights in information they are authorized to submit. They grant Yaato permission to host, process, transmit, and display that information as necessary to provide, protect, support, and improve the service. Use of personal information is also described in the Privacy Policy.
Customers are responsible for exports or copies they require. Deleting a record from a normal product workflow may not immediately remove historical, audit, backup, or legally retained information.
9. Yaato materials and feedback
Yaato and its licensors retain rights in the software, website, documentation, designs, logos, and related materials. Subject to these terms and any customer agreement, Yaato grants authorized users a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service for its intended internal purpose.
If you provide suggestions or feedback, Yaato may use them without obligation, provided that doing so does not grant Yaato ownership of customer data or confidential information.
10. Third-party services
Yaato can depend on third-party maps, routing, hosting, database, messaging, email, analytics, device, operating-system, and network services. Their terms and privacy practices may apply separately. Yaato is not responsible for a third party's independent service, outage, policy, or content.
11. Fees, pilots, and changes
Fees, payment terms, pilot duration, support, service levels, and included features are governed by the applicable written agreement or order. If no paid agreement exists, Yaato may limit or discontinue pilot or evaluation access.
Yaato may change, add, limit, or remove features. Where a customer agreement promises notice or continued functionality, that agreement controls.
12. Suspension and termination
Yaato may suspend or restrict access when reasonably necessary to address security, unlawful use, non-payment, risk to users or the service, or a material breach. Customers may stop using the service and request account closure through their authorized administrator or support@yaato.in.
Terms that by their nature should continue after termination—including ownership, payment obligations, confidentiality, disclaimers, limitations, and dispute provisions—will survive.
13. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, services provided without a separate written warranty are supplied on an “as available” and “as is” basis. Yaato does not promise uninterrupted operation, error-free data, continuous GPS, successful message delivery, route optimality, regulatory compliance, or any particular safety or operational outcome.
Nothing in these terms excludes a warranty or right that cannot lawfully be excluded.
14. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Yaato will not be liable under these public terms for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, punitive, or consequential loss, or for loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, data, or anticipated savings.
Any liability cap, service credit, indemnity, or allocation of risk agreed in a signed customer contract will control. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
15. Disputes and applicable law
The governing law, courts, arbitration, and dispute process stated in a signed customer agreement will control. If there is no signed agreement, the applicable law and competent forum will be determined under otherwise applicable legal rules.
Before starting formal proceedings, the parties should attempt in good faith to resolve the issue by contacting support@yaato.in, unless urgent relief is reasonably required.
16. Changes to these terms
Yaato may update these terms as the service changes. The revised page will state its effective date. Continued use after updated terms take effect constitutes acceptance where permitted by applicable law; material changes may also be communicated through the service or customer contacts.
